iFX EXPO Asia 2026 is about to open in Hong Kong. The organiser's event pages schedule the welcome event for the evening of 7 October and the main exhibition for 8–9 October in Hall 3FG of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. HKCEC's own calendar also lists 8–9 October as the trade-only exhibition dates.

The distinction matters: 7 October is primarily registration and the welcome event, while the exhibition-floor and conference programme starts on 8 October. Delegates should follow their registration confirmation and the official event app for updates.

Projections, not attendance results

The organiser projects more than 5,000 attendees, 120 speakers, representation from over 130 countries and more than 150 exhibitors. These are pre-event estimates and must not be presented as verified attendance.

The event targets brokers, proprietary firms, introducing brokers, fintech and regtech companies, liquidity providers and payment companies. Content is split between the Speaker Hall and Mastery Hub, with the organiser advertising more than 27 sessions and Q&As and over 13 hours of material around growth, regulation and competitive positioning.

What the industry should watch

For brokers, the useful questions concern trading infrastructure, execution, liquidity access, payment rails, customer acquisition and compliance tooling. Cross-border operations in Asia still require entity-by-entity checks of licences, permitted products, client-money arrangements and marketing rules.

For technology and payment firms, product demonstrations need to be tested against deployment evidence: measurable execution quality, settlement and compliance controls, auditable AI decisions, and clear custody and counterparty arrangements for digital assets.

The iFX Hack Hong Kong finalists are also scheduled to present at the Mastery Hub on 8 October. Its official challenge areas include trading, payments, compliance operations, digital assets and customer experience. A live prototype can show direction, but it is not proof of production resilience or regulatory approval.

Impact on traders and firms

An expo does not change a licence or give exhibitors a regulatory endorsement. Traders evaluating products announced at the event should still verify the operating entity, registration, client agreement, fees, funding path and complaints process.

Firms should watch whether Asia expansion is backed by local compliance and operations; whether payment and liquidity providers publish verifiable service levels; and whether AI reduces risk and cost without creating an opaque decision chain.

TraderVote view

The Hong Kong edition underlines Asia's continued importance to online trading, payments and financial infrastructure. The meaningful measure will not be booth count alone, but which firms disclose verifiable product terms, legal entities, service regions and controls—and which announcements survive beyond the exhibition floor.
