FCA warns that fortradelimited.com is a clone with no link to genuine Fortrade

The UK FCA has identified fortradelimited.com as a clone of an authorised firm and says it has no connection with genuine Fortrade Limited.

The UK Financial Conduct Authority issued a warning on 17 August 2026 identifying fortradelimited.com as a clone of an authorised firm. The regulator says the site is not authorised, has contacted people while pretending to be Fortrade Limited, and has no connection with the genuine company.

Institutions and key facts

The FCA lists fortradelimited.com and an associated email address as clone details. It warns that clone operators may mix genuine company names, addresses, phone numbers and Firm Reference Numbers with false contact information, and may change those details over time.

The genuine UK-authorised entity is Fortrade Limited, FRN 609970. The official domain named by the FCA is fortrade.com. A plausible-looking variation containing words such as “limited” is not proof of authorisation.

This is a warning about the named clone website. It is not a penalty, allegation or adverse finding against genuine Fortrade Limited.

Impact on traders and brokers

Consumers dealing with an unauthorised clone generally cannot use the UK Financial Ombudsman Service and are not protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme if things go wrong. Absence from the Warning List is not proof that a site is legitimate because scam operators frequently change domains.

Traders should independently open the FCA Firm Checker and compare the legal entity, FRN, domain, telephone number and email address. Contact the firm using details obtained from the regulator, not links or phone numbers supplied in unsolicited messages. HTTPS alone does not establish regulatory status.

Brokers should monitor lookalike domains, publish clear entity and domain information, and maintain verifiable anti-fraud notices for customers.

TraderVote view

Clone fraud works by mixing genuine details with false ones. Checking a registration number alone is insufficient; the domain and contact information must match the regulator’s record.

TraderVote will not link to the clone site or attribute its conduct to genuine Fortrade. Any updates will follow official FCA records.
